The original Hungry Tiger lounge on 28th and Burnside in 2006.
For 20 years, Portland’s Hungry Tiger was a rock and roll dive known for cheap
drinks, Chinese food and a great crowd. In the fall of 2006, just a few months before
the original building was demolished to make way for new condos and store fronts,
we opened the doors of the Hungry Tiger Lounge & Hungry Tiger Too in the
Buckman neighborhood. The Hungry Tiger Lounge as a relaxed fun place for
drinks socializing and snacking & the Hungry Tiger Too as an all American greasy
spoon diner. In 2007, the employees took over and slowly turned it into a great little
American diner where vegan, gluten-free and conscientious carnivores can enjoy a
meal without judgment. We use organic and locally-sustained ingredients whenever
possible. All of our tofu is non-GMO and comes from Ota Family Tofu right around
the corner. Our coffee is fresh, local and sustainable from Portland Roasting
Company. Our meat is all-natural and we only serve certified local, organic,
hormone-free, sustainable Angus beef. We encourage you to choose our delicious
organic cage-free eggs.
